This Tier List is aimed at helping players in Iron, Bronze, Silver and Gold understand the meta and pick the most effective champions for their role.
These elos encompass 90% of the playerbase in NA, I have identified this range of players as the most suitable audience for a tier list and as such these rankings will not necessarily apply to higher elos. You should not take these champions into ranked without practicing them first. Sometimes a champion that you are more comfortable on will give you better results than a champion that is rated higher on the list.

Splitpushers: These champions focus on surviving laning phase so they can splitpush and add extra map pressure throughout the game to give their team a gold advantage or to cause a distraction allowing their teammates to take objectives. This strategy is more effective in Olympic Elo because sometimes the players on the enemy team will not notice the splitpusher allowing them to take several turrets uncontested. These champions are not bad in teamfights but they excel at being alone in side lanes.
Yorick, Nasus, Jax, Tryndamere
Teamfighters: Typically having a play-making ultimate that allows them to have a big impact on team fights and generally they are tanky champions. Laning phase doesn’t matter as much to these champions because they will be much more effective the later the game goes when they can group with their team.
Wukong, Garen, Sion, Malphite
Lane Bullies: Their goal is to simply be annoying. They will harass their lane opponent and draw attention to the top lane. If you pick these champions expect to be targeted by ganks and be sure to ward a lot so you can see them coming. They gain advantages by zoning the enemy laner off of the wave in order to gain CS leads and eventually structure damage.
Teemo, Neeko
Carnivore: This class of champions are heavily focused on ganking and gaining leads for their laners by killing the enemy laners. A lot of the time they will farm until level 6 to make ganking more effective.
Jarvan, Rammus, Amumu, VI
Herbivore: The cliche jungler, focuses more on farming than ganking in order to gain a personal gold lead and carry the game. Reliant on lanes winning or going even, much less effective if lanes lose. They still have the capability to gank but they mostly provide damage and may rely on their laners to CC the target.
Master yi, Nunu
Omnivore: A cross between the 2 previous classes, these champions have no preference and can gain leads from farming or from ganking. Depending on the enemy team and the pace of the game you should choose which one you want to focus on, although trying to do both will be optimal.
Udyr, Jax, Kayn, Shyvana
Assassins: Assassins excel at eliminating a priority target to tip the scales of the fight in their teams favor. Very Mobile and with reasonable forms of escaping danger after killing their target.
Ahri, Fizz, Lissandra
Waveclear/Poke: These champions try to avoid fighting in lane and just want to waveclear to pressure the enemy laner and prevent them from roaming.
Malzahar, Xerath, Velkoz
Control Mages: These champions do well in skirmishes and fighting in corridors, they have large zones of control which means they can stay in one place and throw down their CC if anybody walks into range of them. Very good at catching people out of position which is a common occurrence in Olympic Elo.
Morgana, Neeko, Lux, Veigar
DPS: Their job is to farm through lane to be strong enough to apply high DPS through teamfights from a safe distance.
Jinx, Vayne, Twitch, Caitlyn
Casters: Focusing more on the use of their abilities than the strength of their auto attacks.
Ashe, Sivir, Miss Fortune, Jhin
Tank: Focuses on starting the fight and being on the front lines. Also very good at peeling aggressors off of their carries to keep them safe. Best Tower diving champions.
Blitzcrank, Taric, Leona
Enchanters: Prioritizing healing and shielding their carries to boost their damage and keep them safe.
Sona, Morgana, Nami, Soraka,
Damage: Somewhat counter-intuitive for a support class to focus on damage but these champions help their team by purchasing cheap AP items and controlling the pace of fights by dishing out effective zone-control damage
Zyra, Brand, Lux
